The Moments We Leave Behind
…is a capstone series that documents human connection, solitude, and empty public spaces where connection has happened or is happening, but is absent in this moment. Within our routines, falling into habit is a given, as are overlooking everyday details and taking moments we love for granted. Could this disconnection be repaired by a simple interaction with a stranger or a moment of appreciation towards a loved one? What might it mean to be without this connection, and do these moments, in total, build who we are? By photographing locations that convey a sense of loneliness and the possibility of human connection, I am investigating what can be seen and what cannot. By displaying these vulnerable moments, I aim to inspire an appreciation for day-to-day life and evoke the impact of connection.
